Younicycle provides the Tools to Inform, Educate and convert data -> information -> knowledge as required - for the Web, intranet, or print.
A Short HistoryThe idea began to germinate in 2000. Active coding for [idea] began in January 2003 and was given the name Younicycle later that year. Version 1 was MySQL , Php 4 & Actionscript 1. Version 2 was PostgreSQL 7.4, Php 5, Actionscript 2 + many other building blocks. This is Version 3 and is the first version that will be available for the general public. PostgreSQL 8.37 is the foundation. PostgreSQL is generally acknowledged to be the World's Most Advanced, Open Source Database.
All AboutThis site is the online version of Younicycle and is presented as Software as a Service (SaaS). Younicycle also has a Younicycle Server Package (YSP) for your own server (One account, unlimited users) and Younicycle Enterprise Package [(YEP) (Multi-tenant, unlimited users)]. The Enterprise Package is what we use to serve this site.
We are DifferentYounicycle provides a solid foundation and powerful tools that can be used to create online software or software for your local, internal operations. Instead of providing you with a Targeted (Vertical) Application, we provide all of the Tools to create your own targeted applications. You will then be able to sell those applications at the Younicycle Solutions Shop (under development) or simply retain for your own purposes.
In short, Younicycle is deep, broad and powerful. You have immediate access to advanced functionality that is typically available only for professional developers. This means you will have plenty of room to grow and learn at your own pace.
CollaborateYounicycle is Advanced Server software that allows more than one person to Work inside of each account, each according to his or her skills. The Admin (probably you) will be able to control what each Team member can - or cannot do. This is accomplished by the use of Roles & the Access Control List which is an additional built-in feature of Younicycle.
Intuitive ToolsWe work very hard to make your Tools as intuitive as possible. Many of the Tools are WYSIWYG while others are user friendly and logical. An example of one WYSIWYG Tool can be found here (no registration required).
