All of us sit on both sides of the Great Divide. It just depends on the task.
The Great Divide
A few, very talented developers can draw, design, write SQL, create forms, make layouts, write javascript, write Php, design solid & user friendly GUI's, admin a server and write clear, understandable text. The writer of this page is not a member of that select group. I need help sometimes and when I do, I find someone that already is an Expert. If I watch that person closely, either: - Next time, I'll be able to do it myself .. or ..- No way I'll ever get it. I'll always need help. I can't draw and it won't help if I practice 12 hours a day for a month. A five year old's remark: "That's ugly! You did that on purpose!" Nope. Raw talent. Younicycle has room for both types of people. The skilled developer that can perform all tasks, but also the person that is proficient at one task. Younicycle narrows the Great Divide & makes complex issues simple, allowing more people to expand their capabilities without experts' assistance. But let's be honest. Most of us have at least one weakness. Collaborate with an expert and as you do, learn. We included Visual GUIs to help simplify. We included powerful Scripting Editors for the Experts. If you need food for the Brain, Welcome to the Banquet.
Is Younicycle an Idea in search of an Audience? No. It has been developed by an 'old methods' Company that has a real need and actual customers. The audience is out there, searching for Younicycle. Want to roll your own comprehensive package?Like the idea -- but not on the web?Younicycle also offers a Server Package. You'll be able to install on your own hardware and do your thing. Private label as your own SaaS. The base Younicycle installation is an integrated Suite of Horizontal Applications. You will be able to use as is - or develop Vertical SaaS Solutions on the Younicycle foundation. Online - or on your own server.
Quick FAQ's Can others Host Younicycle & private label? Can we install on our network for Local use? Can I develop & package an SaaS Solution? Will I be able to sell my SaaS Solutions? Can we share XML Files, Templates, Table Snapshots, Site Themes & Pages? Can Developers 'hook up' with Accounts that need help? Is it possible to be a Reseller? Are there discounts?
Younicycle's Mission: Create an SaaS Model that will Eliminate the Great Divide. The Divide that separates: - programmers & 'normal folk'. - expensive, multiple 'seat' software & fair pricing. - customers and vendors. - data and useful information. - Application 1 ... and... Application 2 Collaborate here.
I am always doing that which I cannot do,in order that I may learn how to do it. Pablo Picasso
The functionality, current mode (single record or linear), navigation bar, displayed fields, tab order and appearance of this form are controlled by the GYRE. Contact your Administrator if you do not have GYRE privileges or require assistance.
To Edit a Record:
A selected record will have a Grey background.
Place your cursor into a datafield and type.
Use Tab (keyboard) to move to the next datafield.
Press Enter (keyboard) to commit your data. Your background will flicker Green.
To Create (or Delete) a Record:
If your GYRE has been enabled for the Toolbar, you will be able to Create New - or Delete existing records. An 'empty' (no values), temporary record will be at the bottom of your page when your page loads. This 'empty record' is only in your browser - and is not in your target Table. Note - you may need to scroll down for this record to be visible in your browser.
An Empty record will show (examples) 8 of 7 ... 49 of 48, etc in the Toolbar.
Type into your datafields in the EMPTY record, using Tab to move your cursor to the next field. When you are done - hit Enter on your keyboard. This record will flicker Green - and your new record will be committed to your Table.
After you hit Enter - a new 'Empty record' will appear at the bottom of your Browser. Continue the process described above until you are finished.
Note: If you require additional assistance or navigation tools, contact your Administrator.
