Web System Chat

Chat is an intra-web system account communication Tool allowing Users to communicate in a private setting, within the Account with the intent being to assist in coordinating the efforts of multiple, logged in users.

The Chat launch point is located at the bottom of the left column, below the Y-Tree.  To lauch a session, click the ballon (Open Chat).

After clicking, a new session will open.

Chat Functions

  1. If you would like to Save a session for future reference, enter a name and save.
  2. Load a Saved session from the dropdown list, then continue the discussion (if applicable).
  3. Deletes a loaded, saved session.
  4. Displays Users that are - and are not logged in.
  5. Message space where typed, sent messages are displayed
  6. Various emoticons will become available onclick
  7. Click the Name (#4) of an online User.  That User's name will appear here.
  8. Warn private messages: Because a User has logged in, does not mean that he/she has Chat open. 
    If this checkbox is ticked, the other User ( #7, above), will be alerted that you have sent a message.  This alert will appear as a very noticeable, blinking tab in their Browser.
  9. Type you text, then .....
  10. Click Send.  The message will appear to all Users in this Chat session in #5.
  11. You may also concurrently view with other Users, either an image or summary deatils of a specific project via the Application Analyzer.  Use the radio buttons to choose either Image or Project analyzer.  In the image below, an image has been chosen.
  12. Select a specific, public Image that is already in the Account.
  13. You may also Upload an image from your local system for all to view in the workspace.
  14. Refresh if there have been changes that you'd like to display.
  15. Clear the workspace so that neither images nor Projects are displayed.

 


An example of the usefulness of Chat.  In this case, the Developer could be asked to 'track down' a broken relationsship for the Datasource.
