Themes are handy for creating a consistent 'look' and useful for objects that will be consistent across your site - or a set of pages on your site. The Tool used to create and work with a Theme is virtually identical to the one you are on now - but is not enabled for this demo. After you create a Theme, you would assign pages to the Theme with a drop down list (not shown). Notice that you can't move or edit this note -- The Theme is like a layer under the page you are currently editing.

GEARs are accessed on the Toolbar to your left. The Icon is in the 1st Column, 7th row and looks like a GEAR or an abused donut.
GEARS are visual representations of PHP code which can be found in your System Actions. GEARS do display in the Browser but appear only as a box while working within the GYRE. Click them and look at your Properties palette to see & adjust optional properties for each GEAR. Additional GEARS (not shown) include Product Plans, Simple Contact Form, Display Feed (RSS/RDF), Cart Toolbar & List. Others are under development and will be added after testing.
