Step #1
Step #2
Charts & graphs can make complex issues understandable & boil down enormous amounts of data into a picture. A Chart is a Data Portrait that clarifies complex imformation.
The following types of charts (graphs) are available:Columns, Bar, Pie, 3D Pie, 2D with Hole (Donut)Lines, Area, Scatter (Spline), Radar, Bars 2D, Accumulative Bars 2D
You can design them youself and they can be either 'fixed' or dynamic (bound to a datasource), changing as the underlying data is altered. The example below will produce a static chart.
From your Menu, click New --> Chart. Either select a Datasource or data enter. Select the Columns/Rows you wish to chart.Set all of your Chart parameters for Legends, Axis, Value formats, Background, Frame, Colors, size. All done with clicks & drop down menus. The Chart redraws automatically as you work. The immediate feedback is very helpful.
Don't forget to Save- or - 'Save as". You may now include your chart(s) within a Template for pdfs, within an Application or a Website. Charts with a higher # of dots per inch (dpi) are automatic for Templates (pdfs), as Printing is more demanding than simply viewing within a browser.
Increasing the effectivness of Management Reports, Group communications or User viewable content is easy when the relevant data can be readily accessed from a common architecture.
Anyone can create and use charts without a mental battle.
Click on the Primary type of Graph (Pie was selected)
Click on the subtype of Graph (Pie 3D was selected)
Create chart from Datasource - orCreate chart from enetered data
Enter the Chart data. Select the columns by clicking on the Column headers. Select the rows bt clicking on the rwo #'s. To select all rows, click on the *
Set your Chart Title (we left blank), Subtitle (blank), Values (do not show). We do not need a Legend. Background shadow is Off. Color for the Margin, Frame border (off) and we chose a standard color scheme.
We left many of the items 'off' because our intent is to put the Chart in a Template. Since a Template allows us a great deal of versatility, we do not need all of the 'frills' for this chart.
Be aware that you can set Custom colors and are not 'stuck' with only Standards. This flexibility allows you to adhere to any other color scheme you may have on the actual Template, Application or Site.
